What we look for
We look for students who are dedicated, driven, and determined. These are our main criteria for evaluation, and as an applicant, you should keep these in mind, both in the interview process and in writing the cover letter.
A dedicated student is a student who understands the uphill battle that they face breaking into finance out of UCSD. A determined student will be willing to learn finance on his/her own, especially when only a limited selection of finance classes are available to UCSD students. A driven student never quits.
If you are interested in pursuing a specific financial field, such as Investment Banking, Investment Management, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Management Consulting, Venture Capital, or Accounting, our mentors are eager to help you. If you think you’re the type of student we’re looking for, apply for a mentorship!
