Welcome to the UCSD FPN Website

The UCSD FPN is a new offering that was launched in the Spring of 2008. The FPN is designed to connect driven, motivated students with successful alumni who have significant professional experience in the finance industry. If you are committed to pursuing a career in a particular industry, you can apply for a Mentor in the UCSD FPN (details below) and he or she will guide you through the requisite steps to break into the industry from UC San Diego. Our seven key industries are:

Investment Banking
Investment Management
Private Equity
Corporate Finance
Management Consulting
Venture Capital
Accounting

Each of these industries is highly competitive and requires significant interest and diligence on the applicant's part. To help candidates from UCSD, the UCSD FPN is developing "Breaking Into" guides.

To apply to have an Alumni mentor through the UCSD FPN, one needs to apply. Find out the details at the Application Process.

Stay tuned for more guides and events!

Extra tips for Resumes

If possible, submit your Resume in PDF form.

If you use Word, it is possible you might use special formatting. Certain fonts are not available on all versions of Word. So when you send your documents to prospective employers, it is possible they might not see your resume exactly as you do.

Adobe PDF's contain embedded fonts and therefore appear the same wherever they are read.

Info Night Oct 27 Center Hall 220 7-8pm

Arpan Agrawal, Co-founder of the FPN has flown to San Diego for a little R&R.

But seeing the great opportunity to promote FPN, he has graciously donated an hour so he can speak to you in person about what FPN is trying to accomplish.

Please come to our Info Night at Center Hall room 220 on Monday night.
